A High Surf Warning is posted for the north and west shores of Molokai and the north shore of Maui from 6 a.m. Friday through 6 a.m. Saturday.

Small Craft Advisory for all island waters through 6 a.m. Saturday.

Maui Surf Forecast

North: Surf is overhead to double overhead surf is expected at the best breaks some reefs could get up to nearly triple overhead or more today by sunset. Pe’ahi is looking at 16 to 20 foot faces by dark.

West: Surf is waist/chest high today for most westerly exposures. Exposures with northwest wrap will be bigger.

South: Surf is waist/chest high today for most westerly exposures and fading through the day.

Our current north-northeast swell is fading Friday. Our current northwest swell holds through Friday.

A longer period XL west-northwest swell is expected to build Friday, peaks Friday night. Pe’ahi is expected to break on this swell.

Our current south-southwest fades Friday and into the weekend.

Keep in mind, surf heights are measured on the face of the wave from trough to crest. Heights vary from beach to beach, and at the same beach, from break to break.
