Maui Electric crews will be making unexpected repairs to electrical equipment at South Pu‘unēnē Avenue and Wākea Avenue in Kahului starting tomorrow Thursday, Jan. 26 to Friday, Jan. 27, 2017, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Company representatives say electrical service will not be impacted.

Safe completion of work will require traffic detours near the intersection of Pu‘unēnē and Wākea near Christ the King.

It is recommended to avoid this intersection and take alternative driving routes during the work period.

Repair will consist of removing electrical equipment from an existing utility pole and placing a new pole with equipment on Wākea Avenue.
