New Head Chef at Mama’s Ribs & Rotisserie
Mama’s Ribs ‘N Rotisserie in Nāpili has appointed Samuel ‘Wela’ Espiritu as Head Chef and Food & Beverage Manager. Chef Espiritu brings extensive knowledge of the island culture and an exceptional culinary background to Mama’s Ribs ‘N Rotisserie. Before accepting this position, Espiritu was the Sous Chef at the Montage Kapalua Bay.
Born and raised on Maui, Espiritu learned to cook from his grandmother at the age of ten. His culinary experience includes a strong commitment to quality, along with a passion for food and understanding of both Pacific Rim and local cuisine. As Wela likes to say, “I’m not a chef, I’m just hungry!”
Founded in 1999, Mama’s Ribs ‘N Rotisserie is a family-run business serving fresh rotisserie chicken and baby back pork ribs, as well as housemade salads, sandwiches, daily specials and desserts.
