Humane Society Gets in on Easter with “Golden Egg” Hunt
The Maui Humane Society will celebrate the holidays with two hunts this year, held in conjunction with Freddie the Tortoise’s 14th birthday.
The fun, free family event runs from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 15, 2017 at the Maui Humane Society, located at 1350 Mehameha Loop in Puʻunēnē.
The first hunt will take place at 11 a.m. for keiki ages five and under; and the second hunt will follow for keiki ages six and up. Participants will need to bring their own basket.
Hidden Easter eggs will be empty, and redeemable for candy at the Redemption Table. This is to ensure that every participant gets candy regardless of how many eggs they find.
There will also be a “Golden Egg” in each hunt and whoever finds it will receive a special prize.
Birthday cake will immediately follow the Easter Egg Hunts and Freddie will have his own special birthday cake to enjoy. There will also be food available for purchase at the Kona Shave Ice truck and the Outrigger Pizza Truck.
Other activities at the shelter will include a free keiki zone where little ones can enjoy coloring, crafts and other fun activities. Face painting will also be available in the keiki zone for a suggested donation to benefit the shelter animals.
April is critter month at MHS, which means you can pick your price to adopt any critter. While the Maui Humane Society loves pets, visitors are asked, please do not bring yours to this event.
