Previous Post:

The National Weather Service in Honolulu has issued a Gale Warning for Pailolo Channel and Alenuihaha Channel through 6 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 5, 2017.

Winds are expected from the east at 25 to 35 knots.

Waves and seas are expected at 8 to 12 feet.

A Gale Warning means winds of 34 to 47 knots are imminent or occurring.

Operating a vessel in gale conditions requires experience and properly equipped vessels.

It is highly recommended that mariners without the proper experience seek safe harbor prior to the onset of gale conditions.
