The 96th Maui Fair, which takes place Oct. 4-7 is now seeking applicants to enter their Photo Salon Contest. The competition is open to all Hawaiʻi residents and consists of three divisions: Youth, Open & Expert.

The “Youth” division is open to State of Hawaiʻi residents 18 years or younger; the “Open” division includes all amateur photographers who are residents of the State of Hawaiʻi; and the “Expert” division is open to Hawaiʻi professional photographers and recognized photo experts, including those who have won 1st place in any previous Maui Fair.

Within each division, competitors may submit photos in any of the following categories: Monochrome/Black & White Prints, Color Prints, and Photo Art.

The contest is highly competitive, with more than 200 photographers submitting over 500 photographs each year. The Maui Camera Club, which will oversee the competition, invites three highly qualified Maui professional photographers to adjudicate the competition.

The winners will be ranked according to first, second and third place winners in addition to three honorable mentions in each of the nine division/categories.
