Application Period Opens for Kamehameha Schools’ Early College Scholarship
Kamehameha Schools is offering scholarships to high school students interested in earning college credits at a University of Hawaiʻi campus or community college. This allows students to get a jump-start on college level courses.
To be eligible for the Early College Credit Scholarship, students must be attending an eligible Hawaiʻi high school. In Maui County, this includes any of the following: Baldwin High School; Hāna High School; King Kekaulike High School; Lahainaluna; Maui High School; St. Anthony; Molokaʻi High School; or Lānaʻi High & Elementary School.
Students must re-apply for this scholarship each year and meet all eligibility requirements. Only completed applications received by the deadline will be considered.
The application period for the 2020-2021 school year opens on Nov. 15, 2019 and ends on Friday, Jan. 31, 2020.
Participating students must also apply and be accepted into a University of Hawaiʻi campus (this includes both University and Community College campuses). Deadlines vary by campus, please inquire with your campus of interest for more information.
Student applicants are encouraged to work with their high school (college) counselor in preparation for enrollment in a college course.
Award determination is based on financial need and budgeted funds for the academic year. If awarded, student must re-apply for this scholarship each year and meet all eligibility requirements.
Award amount must only be used for tuition and student fees during the awarded academic year only. The Early College Credit scholarship does not cover books, housing, and late or drop-course fees.
