Maui Crime Jan. 12-Jan. 18: Burglaries, Break-ins, Thefts

Maui police responded to 9 burglaries, 11 vehicle thefts and 9 vehicle break-ins in Maui County over a seven day period from Jan. 12, 2019 to Jan. 18, 2020.

Burglaries were down 18 percent from the week before when 15 incidents were reported over a seven day period. Vehicle thefts decreased 48 percent from the week before when 21 incidents were reported; and vehicle break-ins were up 13 percent from the previous week, when 8 incidents were reported.

9 Burglaries


  • Wednesday, Jan. 15, 7:53 a.m.: 810 Haʻikū Rd., Haʻikū at Da Smoke Shop. Non-residential, forced entry.
  • Saturday, Jan. 18, 5:39 a.m.: 300 Block of Hahana Road., Haʻikū. Residential, unlawful entry.
  • Saturday, Jan. 18, 5:02 p.m.: 1-100 Block of Kaupakalua Rd., Haʻikū. Residential, forced entry.


  • Tuesday, Jan. 14, 5:44 p.m.: 600 Block of Komo Place, Kahului. Residential, unlawful entry.


  • Monday, Jan. 13, 3:55 p.m.: 4000 Wailea Alanui, Kīhei. Non-residential, unlawful entry.
  • Thursday, Jan. 16, 10:25 a.m.: 112 Laumakani Loop, Kīhei. Non-residential, forced entry.
  • Friday, Jan. 17, 3:27 p.m.: 1-100 Block of N Kukui Place, Kīhei. Residential, attempted entry.


  • Wednesday, Jan. 15, 8:26 a.m.: 1100 Block of Kamehameha Iki Rd., Kula. Residential, unlawful entry.


  • Saturday, Jan. 18, 1:14 a.m.: 355 High St., Wailuku at Wailuku Elementary. Non-residential, forced entry.

  • Tuesday, Jan. 14, 4:09 p.m.: 900 Block of Olioli St., Hāliʻimaile. Toyota, white.


  • Tuesday, Jan. 14, 7:26 a.m.: 540 Haleakalā Hwy., Kahului at Costco. Chevy, black.


  • Sunday, Jan. 12, 8:47 p.m.: 1-100 Block of Ritz Carlton Drive, Kapalua. Toyota, white.
  • Wednesday, Jan. 15, 8:43 p.m.: 1 Bay Dr., Kapalua at the Montage Kapalua Bay. Jeep, silver.


  • Tuesday, Jan. 14, 7:59 p.m.: 800 Block of S Kīhei Road, Kīhei. Honda, silver.


  • Sunday, Jan. 12, 11:05 a.m.: 1-100 Block of Kapunakea Street, Lahaina. Kawasaki dirt bike, green/white.

  • Thursday, Jan. 16, 4:51 p.m.: 177 S Kīhei Rd., Kīhei at Keolahou Church. Nissan, white.


  • Monday, Jan. 13, 3:50 p.m.: Hala Wharf Road, Lahaina at Mala Wharf. Chevy, black.
