Employees at Walmart are getting the chance to start a healthier lifestyle in the new year.
Last week, the multinational retail giant announced it will offer employees a gym membership for $9 a paycheck with no contracts or enrollment fees.
In partnership with Trivity Health, Walmart is offering its 3,800 Hawaiʻi associates, as well as associates nationwide, Trivityʻs Prime Fitness program.
The program allows Walmart employees access to Trivity’s network of more than 9,000 fitness centers nationwide.
On Maui, participating gyms include Anytime Fitness in Puakalani and Wailuku, as well as Valley Isle Fitness in Kīhei.
Store representatives say the membership opportunity is available to all full-time, part-time and temporary associates.
“The goal is simply to remove barriers to fitness and provide a path to wellness,” a press release read.
