7 Stranded Hikers Rescued From ‘Bamboo Forest’

Emergency officials rescued seven hikers on Friday afternoon from Kailua after being stranded on a trail due to flash flooding.
Crews located the group of three children and four adults in the area of “Bamboo Forest” just before 2 p.m.
Once on scene, responders confirmed that the nearby stream was not crossable.
The hikers, who are reportedly visitors from Utah, were airlifted to safety one by one.
No injuries were reported.
