Maui Air Arrivals Dip to 87: 24 Residents, 14 Visitors and 49 Crew Members

Passenger arrivals by air continued to slow on Friday, the second day of the state’s 14-day mandatory self-quarantine for all incoming passengers.

Maui had a total of 87 passengers arriving on the Valley Isle, including 49 crew members, 24 residents and 14 visitors, according to new numbers compiled by the Hawaiʻi Tourism Association.

In Līhue on Kauaʻi, there were 26 arrivals–19 of them crew, 5 residents and 2 visitors.

In Kona on Hawaiʻi Island, total arrivals were 45 passengers with 27 crew members, 13 residents and 5 visitors.

In Honolulu on Oʻahu, arrivals were still above 1,000 with a total of 1064 air arrivals including: 224 crew members, 364 residents, 262 transit passengers, 159 visitors and 54 intended residents.

Of the 1,221 arrivals in the state, 180 people were visitors.  The majority were returning residents (406) and crew members (319).

In comparison, last year at the end of March, more than 30,000 passengers arrived in Hawaiʻi daily, including residents and visitors.
