Maui Brand Clinches Prestigious Design Award
A’ Design Award and Competition recently announce that the furniture work Pohihi by Holly Badr-El-Din has been acknowledged with the prestigious A’ Design Award at Furniture, Decorative Items and Homeware Design Competition highlighted as one of the winners by the respected referees of the A’ Design Awards & Competitions within numerous nominated designs.
Raja Badr-El-Din, the lead designer of the winning work Pohihi demonstrates “Modern warmth with woven accents. This piece is designed to feature a commonality of two cultures, Arab and Hawaiian, while leaving room to impart one’s own style on a clean aesthetic. Constructed with a stained beech body, it hosts a set of four monkeypod faced drawers. Completed with solid beech, the drawers slide naturally on wooden tracks. Handwoven laced danish cord draw the eye from cabinet door to statement shelf. Secured with magnetic fittings, the cabinet door opens to a spacious interior with shelf.”
The A’ Design Award is a prestigious award given to top 20 percentile designs that demonstrates an exemplary level of originality in design. Entries to the A’ Furniture Design Awards are peer reviewed and anonymously judged by a grand expert jury panel of leading academics, important press members and established professionals. Nominated furniture designs are voted on pre-determined evaluation criteria to highlight only the leading furniture design works. In addition to reaching top international media, A’ Furniture Design Award winners are listed at World Design Rankings (worlddesignrankings.com), are highlighted at Design Classification (designclassifications.com) platform and are showcased at DesignMag.org which lists the best designs from all countries in all disciplines.
