BREAKING: President Trump Tweets That He and First Lady Have Tested Positive for COVID-19

BREAKING:

In a Tweet on Thursday night, President Trump said he and the First Lady have tested positive for COVID-19.

The Tweet was posted at 6:54 p.m. HST on Thursday, Oct. 1, and reads:

“Tonight, @FLOTUS and I tested positive for COVID-19. We will begin our quarantine and recovery process immediately. We will get through this TOGETHER!”

Two hours earlier, he had Tweeted that one of his close aides, Hope Hicks, who serves as a counselor to the President had tested positive.

In the Tweet he said: “Hope Hicks, who has been working so hard without even taking a small break, has just tested positive for Covid 19. Terrible! The First Lady and I are waiting for our test results. In the meantime, we will begin our quarantine process!”

On Friday morning, Joe Biden tweeted that he and his wife Jill have tested negative for the virus and issued a reminder to the public to take precautions that include wearing a mask and social distancing.

On Tuesday President Trump and Biden had appeared together in a live presidential debate.

In a memorandum from Vice President Mike Pence’s physician, Dr. Jesse Schonau said Pence tested negative for COVID-19.

“Under the guidelines of the Centers for Disease Control, the Vice President is not considered a close contact with any individuals who have tested positive for COVID, including President Donald J. Trump. Vice President Mike Pence does not need to quarantine. Vice President Mike Pence remains in good health and is free to go about his normal activities.”
