Six Inches of Snow Forecast for Big Island Summits

The National Weather Service issued a Winter Weather Advisory from 6 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 24, to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 26, 2021.
According to the NWS, a “wintry mix of snow and freezing rain expected,” with total snow accumulations of up to 6 inches between the 12,500 and 13,000 foot elevation.
Winds gusting as high as 35 mph are also expected
A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow, sleet, or freezing rain will cause travel difficulties.
Motorists are asked to be prepared for slippery roads and limited visibilities, and should use caution while driving.
