Maui Ocean Center, in partnership with Run for Fitness, is hosting its 10th Annual Maui 5K Run and Walk. The 2021 event, from March 1-7, will be virtual.

Registrants may safely run or walk at their leisure, at their desired location, at any time, as long as all government authority rules, regulations and health guidelines are followed.

On-line registration is available now: $25 per child/adult for 5K Run and $20 for 1 Mile Walk. Participants receive a commemorative 10th anniversary T-shirt if registered by Feb. 25. However, registration and donations are welcome through March 7.

The run/walk is open to all age levels and both public and private Maui nui schools are highly encouraged to participate.  Registrants have the opportunity to designate the school they wish to support on the registration form.

Runners and walkers are encouraged to time themselves and submit to Maui 5K, along with post run/walk images to social media to be eligible for door prizes, which include Nā Hoa Kai Annual Memberships to 12 lucky winners.  Prize donations continue to be accepted and will be acknowledged in post virtual race media.

“There is no better time to support our Maui Nui schools and promote health and fitness,” said Maui Ocean Center’s Director of Marketing Toni Rojas, CMP. “During these unprecedented times, Maui Ocean Center has embraced mālama kekahi I kekahi (to take care of each other), and supporting the needs of our children is just one way we can support our island community.”

Sponsors include Adventure Maui Sports, Bayer, Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. and Maui Health System.  Further sponsorship opportunities are available and financial donations encouraged at maui5k.org or email [email protected]
