Cause of Warehouse Fire is Undetermined, $966K in Damages (Update 12:55 p.m. 3.18.21)

A fire at a commercial warehouse in Waikapū last night resulted in an estimated $966,000 in damages. Fire officials say there was $466,000 in damage to the structure and $500,000 to its contents.

The fire at 325 Pakana Street involved a section of the commercial structure approximately 2240 square feet.

The cause of the fire is classified as “undetermined” at this time, and there were no preliminary indicators that the fire was intentionally set. There were no injuries reported.

Maui fire crews are actively battling a structure fire at a warehouse In Waikapū in Central Maui. The fire was first reported at 6 p.m. on Thursday, March 18, at 325 Pakana St. Unit 1. Multiple fire units are on scene. The fire was not yet under control as of 8 p.m.
